Informal English Training Programs

“Fun and interactive training approaches for all staff.”

The Language Key Clubs offer companies an alternative approach to in-house language training using a creative, dynamic and fun approach to learning using a participant-centred approach.

At present, The Language Key offers four informal in-house training programs.

Public Speaking Club

This Club is for those staff that would like to build confidence and sharpen their presentation or public speaking skills in a dynamic, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Each session, usually run every two to three weeks, participants take turns to perform certain roles such as the Master of Ceremonies, The Impromptu Speech Master, Specialists, Prepared Speakers and Evaluators. Other participants participate through the roles of Impromptu Speakers.

Language Key help set up the program and demonstrate the key roles in the first few sessions. Then, the participants take over the key roles, and Language Key continues to perform the role of General Evaluator. Constructive feedback, areas for improvement and direction on self-study resources to enhance public speaking skills are provided in each session.

This highly interactive club witnesses results fast. By encouraging your staff to stand up and speak about a whole range of topics, you soon begin to see their confidence grow.

This club is ideal for Graduate Trainees, Junior and Middle Management, as well as any staff member who needs to conduct presentations in English.

English Club

Designed to be an informal, fun and dynamic club that allows your staff to practice English in a relaxed and friendly environment, this club helps encourage speaking and build confidence.

The format is flexible with input from the participants sought before and during the club. However, each session usually consists of a learning point or topic such as socialising, cultural awareness, colloquialisms and slang, hot topics in the news, telling narratives, impromptu speaking and media sessions to name but a few.

Sessions consist of group discussions, language games and activities, use of media, board games, role-plays and an activity related to understanding colloquial expressions.

In addition to these sessions, on occasions, social events can be incorporated as part of the program such as a lunch gathering or evening drinks, so that the participants have an opportunity to practice their English outside of the office in a social context.

English Clinic

English Clinics allow companies to create an intensive English learning and support environment within their own organization.

The Language Key can provide trainers to be in-house so that any member of staff can utilize their service, whether it is to practice their English, ask specific questions related to the use of English or receive feedback on their documentation or other work-related scenarios such as presentations.

Trainers can be utilized either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups and Language Key Customer Relationship Managers are there to support the logistical arrangements. A highly flexible and mass language learning solution for your staff.
